Queensferry Crossing & Forth Bridges

Sunrise view of the Forth Bridges spanning the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh, Scotland, featuring the iconic Forth Rail Bridge, Forth Road Bridge, and Queensferry Crossing reflecting on calm waters.
Edinburgh, Scotland

Your first stop brings you to the Firth of Forth, where you’ll see Scotland’s famous trio of bridges. From a nearby viewpoint, you’ll have the chance to take photos and learn about the engineering feats that span over a century of innovation, from the Victorian-era Forth Bridge to the modern Queensferry Crossing.

For the past two weeks, we have been on a cruise through the British Isles. It was the best cruise we have ever taken because our travel agent arranged for private tours for us at 5 different ports through Braw Scottish Tours. It was the best experience we ever had; the guides were extremely knowledgeable and just fun to be with. They couldn’t do enough for us and were so reliable. If you’re going to the British Isles to get private tours through Braw, you won’t be sorry. We visited Guernsey, Dublin, Glasgow, Invergordon, and Edinburgh and came home with great pictures and fond memories.

Scone Palace

Scone Palace in Perth, Scotland, historic red sandstone castle surrounded by gardens and lawns, popular tourist attraction and heritage site featured on Braw Scottish Tours
Scone Palace, Scotland

Continuing north into Perthshire, you’ll arrive at Scone Palace — one of Scotland’s most important historic sites. This was once the crowning place of Scottish kings, including Macbeth and Robert the Bruce, and home to the Stone of Destiny. Enjoy a private tour of the palace interiors and explore the beautifully kept grounds, while your guide shares stories that link Scotland’s monarchy, politics, and legends.

Glenturret Distillery

Glenturret Distillery in the Highlands of Scotland, home of the Famous Grouse, featuring historic white buildings and cobbled pathway at a popular Scottish whisky tourism destination
Glenturret Distillery, Scotland

From Scone, you’ll journey through Highland Perthshire to reach Glenturret Distillery, officially recognized as the oldest working distillery in Scotland. Your driver-guide will introduce the site and its background before you join a guided distillery tour. The distillery itself is smaller and less commercial than many others, which makes it a good place to get a clear, traditional introduction to how Scotch whisky is made. You’ll then get to raise a glass to a wonderful day, as you finish with an exclusive whisky tasting.

Pitlochry

Historic stone buildings in Pitlochry, Scotland with scenic hillside landscape in the background, showcasing traditional Scottish architecture and countryside charm
Pitlochry, Scotland

In the afternoon, you’ll arrive in Pitlochry, where your driver-guide will lead a guided walk along the River Tummel to Pitlochry Dam and its fish ladder. This easy, well-maintained riverside route offers a good introduction to the local landscape, with views across the water and into the surrounding woodland. Along the way, your driver-guide will share insight into the town’s Victorian roots, the hydroelectric scheme at the dam, and the salmon that pass through the ladder each year. After the walk, there’s free time to explore Pitlochry before beginning the journey back to Edinburgh.

I have spent a magical week in beautiful Scotland, of course, thanks to its unparalleled beauty and its kind, friendly and genuine people. My trip could have been a good one even if I just roamed around aimlessly to be honest. But, booking with Braw Scottish Tours has definitely been a game changer for the whole trip. I have to say that I’ve been so well taken care of from the moment I received a reply from Jack to my enquiry email, to the detailed planning of my week and the flexibility to change things around to choosing my guide. When John picked me up and we started our tour with the epic Stirling castle, I knew I made the right choice. John will tell you things that you don’t see in a documentary or read in a book. He will tell you stories and make you feel you are living in them. He’s such a wonderful story teller and a humorous, friendly and courteous guide. He is generous with his time, knowledge and is flexible with plans. I have laughed so much, met many local scottish people who showed me what a wonderful nation this is, learned quite a few scottish words, dined with Scots, raced sheep and chased highland cows and went up above the clouds in our highland expedition. From Glasgow to Stirling to Edinburgh to Inverness and the Queens View followed by Isle of Skye and the wonderful walk to the Niest lighthouse and then fort william, I have lived a wonderful dream for 7 days that was only made possible because of Braw Tours. Thank you John. You’re booked in August and this time I’m bringing the whole clan with me! Don’t think twice and book with Braw Scottish Tours if you’re planning to come to this beautiful country. It will be worth your while and your money. Thanks again and looking forward to coming back very soon ❤️
