Loch Lomond Cruise

Scenic view of Loch Lomond in Scotland with calm reflective water, green hills, and a small boat under a bright blue sky, showcasing natural beauty for Scottish tours and travel.
Loch Lomond, Scotland

From the village of Luss, step aboard a private charter or elegant small-group vessel for a cruise across Loch Lomond, the largest expanse of freshwater in Britain.

As the boat glides between wooded islands and along rugged shores, your guide shares the ballads and legends that made this loch immortal in Scottish song. On a private experience, sip whisky or sparkling wine on deck as the Highland scenery drifts by, the mountains mirrored in the still waters.

For those who prefer to linger ashore, a gentle stroll through Luss reveals stone cottages and flower gardens that feel lifted from another age.

Trip to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs: We were on a cruise stopping in Edinburgh. Since we recently had spent 3 days there, I wanted to see some of the country side and visit an ancestral home. Braw Scottish Tours put together a great itinerary for the day. Our guide Martine met us as our tender arrived at the dock. She was fantastic, friendly and very knowledgeable about the history. She adapted the itinerary so we could see and do what was most important to us. Also important, she made sure we got back in plenty of time before our ship sailed. I definitely recommend the tour company and Martine.

The Trossachs

Trossachs, Ben A'an and Loch Katrine, Scotland
Trossachs, Scotland

Your driver takes you deeper into The Trossachs, where wooded hills and twisting glens rise suddenly into Highland peaks.

Known as “The Highlands in Miniature, “this landscape was once the haunt of outlaw hero Rob Roy MacGregor, whose tales your guide recounts as you pass shimmering lochs framed by forest.

With a private driver-guide, you can pause where the scenery is most stirring, whether for short woodland walks, quiet lochside photographs, or simply to stand and breathe the pine-scented air.

Rannoch Moor: Highland Wilderness

Scenic view of Rannoch Moor in the Scottish Highlands with calm reflective water, rugged hills, and clear blue sky, showcasing natural beauty and landscape of Scotland
Rannoch Moor, Scotland

Climbing northward, the scenery changes dramatically to the wild, open expanse of Rannoch Moor. This vast plateau of bogs, lochans, and peat stretches to the horizon, creating one of Scotland’s most haunting vistas.

In winter, it can feel stark and windswept, while in summer, it glows with heather and reflected skies. Your driver-guide will stop at scenic laybys for photographs and explain how this difficult-to-traverse landscape shaped Highland travel, warfare, and the resilience of its people.

Few places embody the raw spirit of Scotland’s untamed nature quite like Rannoch Moor.

Glencoe

Scenic view of Glencoe valley in the Scottish Highlands with a person admiring the mountains and winding road at sunrise, popular destination for tours in Scotland
Glencoe, Scotland

Descending into Glencoe, the mountains close in like towering walls, their peaks often shrouded in shifting mists.

This valley is both breathtakingly beautiful and deeply tragic, forever linked with the 1692 Massacre of Glencoe, when Clan MacDonald were betrayed under the code of Highland hospitality.

At the Glencoe Visitor Center, private exhibitions and audiovisual displays bring the story to life. Out on the road, your guide will pause at dramatic viewpoints such as the Three Sisters and Loch Achtriochtan, perfect moments to step out, let the wind whip through your hair, and feel dwarfed by nature’s grandeur.

A private guided walk can also be arranged for those who wish to explore deeper into the glen. Lunch is taken in a cozy Highland inn or traditional village café, with hearty fare to match the mountain setting.

Marla and I would like to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation for your company and particularly Alan, our tour guide. While the itinerary checked all the boxes for our trip through the Highlands, Alan was beyond spectacular. Whisking us away almost instantly after we cleared customs, he led us and helped us on an odyssey that neither of us will ever forget. He was not just a fun and gregarious individual. His depth of knowledge of the historical significance and meaning of everything we saw was truly wonderful. Helping us navigate to "our" one square foot of Glencoe was just above and beyond fun. I cannot think of anyone who would have gone to that extent for a whim. While all the accommodations were delightful, our night in Inverness was simply magical. We had a two room suite with incomparable comfort and we would STRONGLY recommend this hotel to your future guests. Although this portion of our visit was primarily aimed toward Marla's list of "must see" locales, I, unexpectedly, had a simply amazing time as well -- largely due to Alan's ability to hit highlights and avoid any feeling of rushing -- even when we were woefully behind schedule (due to our extended visits at some of the sites). I could write pages of accolades for this experience but suffice it to say that this tour and particularly Alan's company and participation were simply outstanding and fulfilled many of our visions and dreams of Scotland. So, thank you so very much for everything and give Alan an extra hug from us
